I shed tears whenever I'm listening to this song. Heard it during the opening of the long waiting once in a 4 years game. Liu Huan's voice really best suit the song, though don't really understands the Sarah Brightman's part at first. Search the lyrics and found the music video through the official Olympic website.
The song did touch my heart. Beautiful music with great meaning, but how many of us can achieve that? Topic of racism and corruption had been hot topic these few months. It's there all the while until recently it has been trigger again by a headmistress of asking Chinese to go back to China if you don't respect other races and cultures.
It seems easy to say that, but is it easy for Malaysian Chinese to go back China? Even if we are travelling to China, we still need a Visa to go in, because to them we are Malaysians!!! Not just yellow skins with a title called Chinese!
The lyrics mention we are from One World and We Are Family... We can hardly achieve to this level. But with God, everything is possible. And I'm sure we can achieve it in heaven one day, where all are equal and same status regardless of whatever identity you had in this earth.
